Amarillo by Morning...

On our drive back home for ArizonIA (as Ross calls it) we stopped in Amarillo....and technically it was Amarillo by Night! We took our time on the way home and broke it up into 3 days instead of 2. This is my happy traveler...

While in Amarillo for the evening, we decided to check out The Big Texan restaurant. It was a touristy place but Ross really enjoyed it and the food was good!

Ross LOVES anything to do with cowboys, guns, and food so this was a wonderful place for him....it combined all three! Well, I guess the only "guns" there were Ross' pretend ones, but you get the idea. :)

He even got a free hat with dinner!
They had these cute little old men walking around to all the tables and playing songs for everyone. So when they stopped by our table I had to get Ross' picture with them!

I think he had fun....what do you think?!

Arizona 2010

Last week while all of my random posts were going up, my family and I were in Arizona. Wes had gotten the chance to go on the Elite Leaders Summit for Universal American in Scottsdale, AZ at the Hyatt Regency at Gainey Ranch Resort. It's basically a convention of sorts where they have meetings in the morning but then free time the rest of the day. We ended up having to take Ross with us because of the asthma scares he's been having so Mimi came along to be the "nanny"! We were supposed to fly, but when plans changed at the last minute, Wes drove us there on a 2 day trip across the country!

The best parts of the trip were being able to spend that time with family (aka the 19 hour trip there and back), meeting up with friends (especially you, Amanda! It's been a while!), and getting to lounge by the pool while cabana boys brought food and drinks! There was also lots of great shopping!

Ross spent most of his time at the pool with Mimi! There were around 5 different pools with everything from a beach area to a waterslide. He had a blast and even met a new friend named Lauren. She was a few years older than him but was so sweet with him! They had dinners together, swam together, and even took a gondola ride together! This is the picture he took of the two of them. He was sad when she had to leave :(

Ross and his new goggles

On the evening before we left, there was a fancy dinner where they gave out awards to top agents and top offices. Little Rock was #1 so it was an exciting night for us. Here are some pics from the evening.

Jenni, Me, Carol, and Amanda (rockin' the cast!)

Wes and I at dinner

We had a great time and were sad to leave the awesome resort! A girl could get used to great shopping and hanging out by the pool all day!

Tomorrow I will post some pictures from our drive home. It was one of Ross' favorite parts!

Easter 2010

Well, as I have hinted in my last few posts, Easter 2010 was quite an eventful day for us. Our actual Easter service we attented was on Saturday night. Our church asked the regular attenders to come that night if it fit into our schedule so that Sunday morning they would have plenty of seats for guests and their families. We were happy to be able to do that and it turns out that if we had not attended that Saturday night service we might've missed it all together.

Saturday night/ Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. Ross woke up coughing and I went in to check on him. He was not able to breathe normally without having a coughing fit so we gave him some hits on his rescue inhaler and tried the "steam in the shower" trick. Thankfully with Wes growing up having asthma as well, he knew what to do. After not getting the results we wanted (aka him breathing normally) we loaded up and headed to the ER around 1:40. They got him in quickly and gave him an updraft treatment and he started breathing somewhat better. After chest xrays ruled out pneumonia we got some liquid steriods and antibiotics then got sent home (around 4:30 a.m.) to follow up with his Respiratory Therapist and Allergy Dr.

This picture was Saturday night before church

After we were home and able to sleep for a few more hours, the normal Easter morning festivities began....only at a slower pace because running around was NOT allowed for fear of triggering another attack.
His Easter basket from us....he knows the bunny is just a "costume" he says

He got 2 leapster games

A punching bag....which wasn't the smartest idea since he wasn't able to be too active because of the incident.

Looking for eggs

I'm so thankful for this little guy and that God was watching over him that morning!

Happy Easter! (late I know!)

Easter Eggs

The Saturday before Easter we spent the morning dying Easter eggs. It's the first time Ross has ever gotten to do this....yes I know I am a horrible mother. *Sidenote- This is during the day before the night asthma attack that sent us to the ER so that's why his eyes look the way they do. His allergies were horrible that day.
The set up...yes there are only 7 eggs, it was all I had. (again...terrible mother :)

Daddy helping out

Again with the allergy eyes

He was very careful and clean....somewhat unlike him

And I just posted this one because I like that you can see his little gut...hilarious!

Easter post to come....

Palm Sunday

Note: Not sure why the video isn't working....I will try and figure it out!

On Palm Sunday at our church, they had the 3 and 4 year olds walk down front waving palm leaves. It was a really neat idea and I was really excited about his getting to do this. It's so helpful when trying to teach him about things like this and him actually being able to do it. It makes the learning process much easier!

So here is a video of Ross that Sunday morning. Now let me explain. There are a lot of people that go to our church (much more than I had growing up) so when they said 3 and 4 year olds I was thinking 50 to 75 kids.....not even close....more like 200 or more! So forgive the long (and somewhat boring if you aren't a grandparent...or even if you are :) video but I had to document this event. It's around 5 minutes long and you can't even see Ross until about the last 30 seconds if that tells you anything.
