Hawaii or Bust

Well, after a long wait we are finally leaving for Hawaii in the morning. I wish I could be excited but I'm so stressed out at this point that I'm about to pull my hair out. Thankfully I packed all 3 of us yesterday so that was taken care of already.....yay me!

For starters, the cat started chewing at his paw again so that meant an emergency trip to the vet this afternoon. Thankfully he's fine. We've also been briefing our house sitter, Pef (not his real name), on all the duties that are involved (which with 2 pets is alot). And it took me FOREVER to figure out how to print our boarding passes...I've never had this much trouble. Plus it's 6:30 and I still have no clue what we are having for dinner.....Oh and Ross is going ABSOLUTELY CRAZY because I'm guessing he's so excited about tomorrow.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Lord, help me please...

On a good note, I got my hair and nails done today so I at least look presentable. I'm so ready to be on the beach......

Hankers and Hoowadi

Our cat Hank (technically he's mine but likes Wes better) had to go in to the vet last week to get neutered and we also had him declawed (front paws only) while he was there. I picked him up a couple days later and he was doing great. We left with strict instructions to keep him from jumping, batting at things with his paws, and just keep him "still" in general.....yeah right!

After a few days, the poor kitty started looking like he was bleeding on one of his paws. So I immediately called the vet and they had me bring him back up to have it checked out. Turns out the stinker had pulled out his suture....poor little guy. They had to sedate him again to clean it out and suture it back up and we got to pick him up this morning.

When they came around the corner with him THIS is what we saw....

How pitiful!!! He is NOT happy with his new accessory. I tried to tell him that it brings out his eyes but he doesn't believe me....he's just ticked.

So lucky me, Hank got all new prescriptions and was again given STRICT instructions to rest, rest, rest. I've also got to keep him somewhat locked up so that he stays still and out of trouble....for a whole WEEK! Seriously that's just torture on a kitty! And us!

Anway, that pretty much sums up all the interesting things that have happened around here lately. We are still counting down the days until warm and sunny Hoowadi....and yes that's spelled correctly....because according to Ross it's not Hawaii....it's Hoowadi! 6 days!!

Christmas Money and Waders...

Well, it's been a while since I've blogged and I thought I would show some pictures of the recent happenings around here.

First of all, Ross got some waders from Ms. Carol and Mr. Blake! They were Maverick's (their youngest son) and he outgrew them so they are letting us use them. Ross has never been duck hunting and I don't think he's going to go this year either but to say that he likes the waders is definitely an understatement! He wore them around for the next couple of hours and probably would be wearing them still if they weren't in the garage at the moment!

Hilarious!

After much debate between a new Leapster game or a guitar, Ross decided that he would start early on learning a musical instrument and purchased a new kid guitar with some of his Christmas money. Wes tuned the guitar to a G so now he plays the G chord constantly and LOUDLY. He and his daddy play at least once a day, with Ross making up random songs about the dog, the cat, some guy named Uncle Bill, etc.....Like father like son!

Typical "jam" session

Rock 'n' Roll...Morgan style!

I hope everyone's new year is going well so far. Our's has been uneventful which is the way we like it! Here in about 10 days the 3 of us will be on a plane headed to Maui!!!!! We all cannot wait since it's been so stinkin' cold here lately. I'm so ready to pack all of my summer stuff and go someplace warm! I've been checking the weather for Maui lately and it's been steadily in the high 70's/ low 80's. It's going to be marvelous!

Have a wonderful week!

Happy New Year!!! It's 2010!

Wow! Can you believe it's actually 2010?? I can't believe how fast this year has flown by. It was probably helped along with all the traveling I did in 2009...Bahamas, Los Angeles, White Buffalo Trip, New York, Gulf Shores, California (again! but northern this time), and here in just 3 weeks we will be heading to Hawaii! It was a really great year!

For our New Year's, since Ross was in Paragould, we went to Koto (a Japanese Hibachi place) with about 8 of our friends and then came back to our house for games, karaoke, and conversation! It was a wonderful and relaxing time with great people! Here are a few pictures from the night.

Christmas at Mamaw and Papaw's

We had a great time in Paragould over the Christmas holiday! Ross got to stay for a few extra days while Wes and I came home. He was a busy guy over the last week, taking in movies, bowling, and lots of fun with cousins! He loves getting to stay and spend one on one time with Mamaw and Papaw, and Mimi and Papa. I enjoy it too for the first day or so but then I'm ready to have him back at home!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!
